Exhaustion

When I am exhausted
My thoughts materialize in words
Why can’t I just fall asleep?
These words must be said or they’ll keep me awake
So here I sit in the darkness of night
Writing so I could fall asleep

About Lulu

I take pleasure in the simplest of things. But most of all I enjoy the stillness, there is so much I feel in it.

Thanks! I agree, I sleep better after too. But sometimes I just wish to sleep as soon as I lay my head down.

Here’s my fix: I stay up till the wee hours so that I’m well ready to crash as soon as I crawl into bed. I say my prayers quick, remind God to “finish the list for me if I’ve forgotten anybody”, and I’m OUT. But this may not be an option for you, if you still have a career.

I still work and when I get home I work and when the weekend comes, I work. It’s a never ending cycle. Even with my hectic life, I have trouble sleeping. Maybe there’s too much on my mind.

It’s definitely a different deal for working women with families–lots of responsibilities that keep the mind running and make sleep a luxury.
